MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541131467 A) filed by Brakes India Private Limited, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 24, 2025, for 'motor on drum brake assembly with electronic parking brake actuator mounting assembly and method thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a Motor on Drum brake assembly (100) with an electronic parking brake actuator mounting assembly, comprising: a back plate (1) comprising a mounting hole (1.1) and an elliptical hole (1.2); an actuator bracket (2) comprising a hollow cylindrical portion (2.1) having two openings provided with two mounting pads (2.2, 2.5), projections (2.3), mounting holes (2.4), an elliptical guide portion (2.6), a stiffener (2.7), a cavity (2.8), and a stepped face (2.9); an electronic parking brake (EPB) actuator (3) comprising a threaded insert portion (3.1) allows the EPB actuator (3) to be attached to the actuator bracket (2) using fasteners (4). The actuator bracket (2) secures the back plate (1) using fasteners (5), and a cable guide plate (6). Advantageously, the present invention enhances the performance and reliability of brake systems and provides robust solutions for maintaining effective braking while minimizing noise and wear."
