The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The aim of the present invention is to enhance dietary iron intake and iron bioavailability by developing an iron-enriched nutritional spread cream using powdered Moringa oleifera leaves and Phyllanthus emblica (amla) . The invention provides a child-friendly, palatable nutritional spread formulated using moringa leaf powder as a natural plant-based iron source and amla powder as a natural vitamin C rich absorption enhancer. In order to enhance sensory acceptabiity, the formulation also includes a lipid base made from butter or similar edible fats, natural sweeteners like dates powder, and flavouring ingredients like cocoa powder. To create a smooth, stable cream with a long shelf life, the process involves carefully drying and pulverising moringa leaves, preparing amla powder, and blending the ingredients uniformly at an appropriate temperature. The nutritional cream can be consumed on its own as a spread or added to cereal and baked goods like bread, cookies, biscuits, and millet-based foods. The synergistic combination of moringa and amla enhances iron bioavailability while maintaining a natural, food-based formulation without synthetic fortificants. The invention allows the use of locally accessible plant resources to create nutritional products that are both affordable as well as having added value. It also offers industrial applicability in the development of functional and fortified food products, which are especially appropriate for children and populations at risk of inadequate dietary iron intake. Keywords Iron-enriched nutritional spread cream, Moringa oleifera, Phyllanthus emblica (Amla), Iron bioavailability, Functional food."
