MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441021163 A) filed by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Bengaluru, Karnataka, on March 20, 2024, for 'molybdenum based composite material for removal of toxic hexavalent chromium from wastewater under sunlight.'
Inventor(s) include Raman, Ravishankar; Mondal, Tapas Kumar; Bojja, Ramachandra Rao; and Maheshwari, Vipul Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to the field of photocatalysis. More specifically, the present invention relates to a molybdenum based composite material comprising molybdenum based quantum dots decorated molybdenum oxysulfide nanosheet and a process for the preparation of the molybdenum based composite material. The molybdenum based composite material is used as a catalyst in a process for the reduction and removal of upto 97.5% of toxic hexavalent chromium from wastewater under the treatment of sunlight."
