MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311085576 A) filed by Secretary, Ministry Of Electronics And Information Technology, Govt. Of India; and The Director General, Centre For Materials For Electronics Technology, New Delhi, on Dec. 14, 2023, for 'moisture sensing device and method of fabrication thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Seema Ansari; Muralidharan Malamal Neelanchery; Amal A. G.; Partha Kumbhakar; Thomas Daniel; Digambar Nadargi; Theertha Sunil; and Arathy Kottapurath.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a method 300 of fabricating a moisture sensing device 100, a method 400 for sensing moisture, and a moisture sensing device 100, comprising a moisture sensor 102 and a controller 101 connected to the moisture sensor 102. The moisture sensor 102 may comprise of a plurality of conducting electrodes 202, 203 and a sensing material 201 formed between the plurality of conducting electrodes 202, 203 and electrically connected to the plurality of conducting electrodes 202, 203, wherein the sensing material 201 is provisioned to receive a sample. The controller 101 may be configured to determine moisture of the sample based on a change in one or more first electrical characteristics of the sensing material 201 of the moisture sensor 102 when the sensing material 201 receives the sample."
