MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311084458 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 11, 2023, for 'modular vendor-based shopping assistive system.'
Inventor(s) include Rashmi Choudhary; and Sandeep Sandhu.
The application for the patent was published on June 20, under issue no. 25/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A modular vendor-based shopping assistive system, comprising a body 1 installed on entrance of premises, a user-interface is installed in a computing unit accessed by a user for uploading a requirement list of different commodities, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 installed on body 1 for capturing surrounding images, a touch interactive display panel 3 arranged on body 1 for displaying uploaded requirement list, a motorized iris lid 4 mapped for allowing vendor to dispense commodity within body 1, a circular sliding unit 5 for translating chambers 6 arranged on sliding unit 5 underneath lid 4 for receiving dispensed commodity, a weight sensor integrated on chambers 6 for monitoring weight of commodity accommodated on chamber 6, a flap 7 integrated on each of chamber 6 for closing chamber 6 and a QR (quick response) code in front of imaging unit 2 to allow user to initiate payment for purchase."
