MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004082 A) filed by Hero Motocorp Limited, New Delhi, on Jan. 19, 2024, for 'modular vehicle.'
Inventor(s) include Nalawade, Sunil Damodar; Dwivedi, Satyendra Dhar; and Kumar, Prasanjeet.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A modular vehicle (1) configured to be converted from a two-wheeled configuration (100) to a multi-wheeled configuration (200), and vice versa. The modular vehicle (1) comprises an attachment structure (210) couplable with a two-wheeled vehicle (100), and a latching mechanism (270) for coupling the two-wheeled vehicle (100) with the attachment structure (210). The latching mechanism (270) comprises a cover unit (280a, 280b) for covering latching pins (272) and/or a corresponding actuator (276a). The cover unit (280a, 280b) comprises a first member (282) and a second member (284) adapted to couple with each other via fasteners (290) that are inserted into holes of the first member (282) in the longitudinal member (218a, 218b) such that a head (292) of the fastener (290), defining a preset pattern (294) is accessible for tightening and loosening purposes. Said preset pattern (294) requires a preset tool for tightening or loosening of the fastener (290)."
