According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a modular urban infrastructure system (10) for sustainable city development, designed to integrate stormwater management, renewable energy generation, and public amenities within a single roadside unit. The system comprises a series of interconnected modules, each having a base structure (18) housing a water management subsystem (24). This subsystem (24) captures, filters, and stores stormwater runoff via an inlet and filtration chamber (26) within a storage tank (28), releasing it slowly through a controlled outlet (30) to mitigate urban flooding. Extending from the base is a vertical support column (38) that incorporates a vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) housing (14) and supports a canopy (12) of photovoltaic solar panels, forming a hybrid energy generation unit. The generated power is managed by a power management subsystem (32) with a battery bank (34) and inverter (36), which also powers integrated LED lighting (16) on the column. The exterior of the base (18) is configured for attachable public amenities (20) like seating or bike docks. Standardized interfaces (22) allow for mechanical and electrical interconnection between adjacent modules, creating a networked, decentralized infrastructure corridor. This integrated approach maximizes land-use efficiency, enhances urban resilience, and contributes to the development of smart, sustainable cities by simultaneously addressing water, energy, and public space needs."
