MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617004484 A) filed by Ergon Equine Ltd., Haddington, U.K., on Jan. 16, for 'modular saddle tree and cantle.'
Inventor(s) include Hulman, Bjorn; and Heggie, Virginia.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable cantle component for mounting to a seat portion of a saddle tree (or a modular saddle tree with prefabricated parts) has a cantle body and a seat- mounting projection of two opposing lateral mounting projections, the relative angle which may be adjusted between a first mounting angle and a second mounting angle, whereby both cantle shape and seat profile to meet the requirements of a rider and/or horse with minimal inventory."
