MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411013487 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 24, 2024, for 'modular railing accessory device.'

Inventor(s) include Kumud Sachdeva.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A modular railing accessory device, comprising a frame 1 installed on upper portion of railing, by means of two clamping units 2, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 determines dimensions of railing's rod, a touch interactive display panel 4 is accessed by a user for providing input regarding an operation to be performed, a motorized sliding unit 6 translates four motorized rollers 5 for maintaining optimum gapping and followed by which rollers 5 rotate for unwrapping hollow conduit 7 coiled whose free end is gripped by multiple clippers 8 to establish wiring network over which user hangs wet clothes, a motorized hinge joint 9 tilts frame 1 towards a user-specified direction for dripping of water, a hot air blower 10 blows hot air on clothes by means of multiple perforations, and reel 11 unwraps a transparent sheet 12 which is gripped by clippers 8 to cover frame 1."
