MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026028 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'modular plug-board for electrical appliances.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A modular plug-board for electrical appliances, comprises of a platform 1 developed to be installed underneath a fixed surface of a desk, plurality of suction cups 2 to adhere to the surface, a plate 4 to accommodate an extension board, pair of telescopically operated rods 5 to extend/retract for positioning the plate 4, a microphone 3 for receiving voice commands from the user, a motorized ball and socket joint o flip the plate 4, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 6 for capturing and processing multiple images in vicinity of the platform 1, a motorized sliding unit 7 for positioning the robotic arm 8, plurality of U-shaped extendable members 9, a drawer arrangement 10 for increasing/decreasing dimensions of the members 9, a robotic arm 8 to acquire a grip of the extension board for positioning the board in view of securing the board on the plate 4."
