MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441017292 A) filed by Ezhilarasi. D, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, on March 11, 2024, for 'modular multi terrain hexapod robot for navigation and exploration.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure discloses an all-terrain hexapod robot platform that can be used for various applications such as navigation, surveillance, and mapping. The bot consists of six legs with eighteen servo actuators to enable multidirectional motion quite effortlessly, while having good stability and payload capacity. End point of each leg consists of a spring-based suspension with digital feedback to understand the external environment that the bot can use an appropriate gait system for mobilization. Both power and control signal distribution are achieved using dedicated slave servo controllers and this is interfaced to the MCU using UART communication. This entire setup is controlled using a custom radio controller for performing various motions."
