MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521105047 A) filed by Marwadi University, Rajkot, Gujarat, on Oct. 30, for 'modular lighting device.'

Inventor(s) include Bhavik A. Kaladiya; Chandrasinh D Parmar; and Vijay Dubey.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A modular lighting device, comprising of a circular-ring shaped frame 101, an expanding pulley arrangement 103 to precisely adjust the frame's 101 diameter, enabling a chandelier to be optimally sized for different room dimensions, a plurality of vertically spaced concentric circular rings 104 attached to the frame 101, each ring 104 progressively decreasing in size, the rings 104 being interconnected by a set of thin extendable links 105 capable of dynamic extension and retraction, multiple PIR sensors for detecting occupancy of users in the vicinity of the frame 101, multiple RGB LED lights 113 to provide customizable illumination according to ambient settings or user preferences, and an auxiliary LED deployment arrangement comprising multiple foldable plates 106, each equipped with a plurality of illuminating units 107, and connected to an angle-changing unit configured to alter the orientation of the plates 106 for providing focused or wide-spread illumination based on spatial requirements."
