MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411073950 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Sept. 30, 2024, for 'modular hairdressing assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Anuradha Saini; Navneet Katoch; Anup Das; and Isha Rani.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A modular hairdressing assistive device, comprising a L-shaped frame 1 that is positioned on a ground surface, plurality of suction cups 2 for securing frame 1 on surface, a seating unit 3 enables user to get accommodated on seating unit 3 comfortably, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 determine body dimensions of user, a pair of hydraulically operated rod 5 positions a head rest 6 behind user's neck, a plank 7 by means of a pair of hydraulically operated links 8 for adjusting height of plank 7, a microphone 9 is accessed by a hairdresser to provide input commands regarding a required direction of user's head for haircut, a motorized ball and socket joint 10 provide a required movement to head rest 6."
