MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006217 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 30, 2024, for 'modular furniture for providing isolated workspace.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Hardeep Singh; Dr. Narinder Kumar; Sukhnik Singh; and Prabhdeep Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A modular furniture for providing isolated workspace comprises of a cuboidal shaped body 1 developed to positioned within an enclosure, multiple rods 2 for providing support to the body 1 on a ground surface as per requirements, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 to detect a user present in proximity to the body 1, a pair of double rack-gear lever arrangement 5 for deploying a plate 6 on top of the body 1, a LED (Light Emitting Diode) strip 13 for illuminating a high intensity light, a motorized sliding arrangement 7 for providing movement to the plate 6, a fingerprint scanner 8 accessed by the user to input finger impressions in order to register authenticity to access multiple compartments 9, and a display panel 14 for enabling the user to provide input commands regarding opening of the compartments 9 for utilizing as workspace."
