MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531020426 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on March 6, for 'modular foot hygiene maintenance assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Tapas Kumar Mohapatra.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A modular foot hygiene maintenance assistive device, comprises of a plate 101 developed to be installed on a fixed vertical or horizontal surface, a touch sensor is integrated on the plate 101 for determining contact of the user's foot with the plate 101, inflatable pins 104 mounted on the plate 101 to get inflated for allowing the user to rub the user's foot on plate 101, a sensing module embedded on the plate 101 to monitor hardness and skin type of the user's foot, an electronically controlled nozzle 106, to dispense specific type of cleaning gel over the user's foot portion, a rotatory cylindrical brush 108 for scrubbing the user's foot portion with the cleaning gel to assist the user in cleaning the foot, and an optical sensor installed on plate 101 for detecting presence and thickness of calluses and extra skin present over the user's foot and sole."
