MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411013461 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 24, 2024, for 'modular cable management device.'

Inventor(s) include Sumit Malhotra.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A modular cable management device, comprising of a U-shaped frame 1 developed to be positioned on a fixed surface, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 for capturing multiple images in the vicinity of the U-shaped frame 1, plurality of motorized C-shaped clamps 3 to grip the charging cable, a pair of motorized horizontal sliding unit 4 to translate the C-shaped clamps 3 along the motorized sliding unit 4, an ultrasonic sensor 5 to monitor the dimensions of the cable, a biometric sensor 6 to authenticate the user before unplugging the cable from the gadget, a speaker 7 to produce audio alerts, a timer 8 for monitoring time duration of the plug-in of the cable with the gadget, a motorized gripper 9 to unplug cable from the gadget and a moisture sensor for detecting the presence of water in vicinity of the U-shaped frame 1."
