MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441076223 A) filed by Ashok Leyland Limited, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Oct. 8, 2024, for 'modular bogie suspension assembly with single piece integral cast cross member and bogie bracket with v-rod arrangement.'
Inventor(s) include A. Joseph Selvaraj; V. Vijaykumar; S. Karthikeyan; and NG Rajakumar.
The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a modular bogie suspension assembly (100) for a vehicle with at least two rear axles (112). The bogie suspension assembly (100) comprises cross member (102) comprising a pair of cross member gussets (104) and a cross member channel (105), plurality of V-rod brackets (106), a suspension element (110) and a pair of damper assemblies (114,122). The suspension element (110) is disposed between said rear axles (112), and the pair of damper assemblies (114,122) are interposed between longitudinal ends of said suspension element (110) and said rear axles. The pair of cross member gussets are single-casted with said cross member channel forming said cross member (102). The V-rod brackets (106) are attached at each corner joint between said cross member gussets and said cross member channel to receive corresponding extended ends of V-rod (107) of the vehicle and thereby pivotally connecting each of said V-rods (107) between said frame (108) and top portion of said rear axle (112)."
