MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531011935 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 12, for 'modular bicycle accommodation device for use in four-wheeler vehicle.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Saroj Kumar Acharya.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A modular bicycle accommodation device for use in four-wheeler vehicle comprises of a frame 101 having a L-shaped telescopic bar 102 having a motorized clamping unit for gripping vehicle, an U-shaped structure 103 having multiple motorized C-shaped extendable member 104, two motorized pivot joints 105 for providing angular movement to structure 103 for facilitating accommodation of multiple bicycle over structure 103, an imaging unit 106 detect presence of a bicycle in proximity to vehicle, an inverted L-shaped telescopic link 107 for positioning a motorized clamp over detected bicycle for clasping top tube of bicycle in a secured manner, an electromagnetic locking unit for locking bicycle in secured manner by accommodating top tube of bicycle within members 104, a fingerprint scanner fetches fingerprint impression of user placed on scanner in view of authenticating the user, an electromagnetic spring for absorbing sudden jerk and shock experienced over structure 103."
