MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521133156 A) filed by Powerarch Technologies Ip Private Limited, Nagpur, Maharashtra, on Dec. 29, 2025, for 'modular arch bridge system with flexible tubular formwork and reusable trusses.'
Inventor(s) include Chetan Tryambakrao Pawar.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A modular concrete-filled tubular arch bridge construction system comprises a plurality of flexible tubular stay-in-place formwork (1) arranged parallel and side-by-side to form multiple arch ribs, each supported on reusable trapezoidal truss modules (2) placed end-to-end beneath the formwork to impart the required parabolic or circular arch profile while resting on substantially leveled foundation blocks. Removable square-section transverse cross bars (73) are clamped to the top chords of the truss modules by U-bolt assemblies (74-76) to temporarily interconnect the parallel arch ribs, providing lateral and torsional rigidity during concreting. After curing, the cross bars and truss modules are progressively removed. Permanent corrugated profiled metal decking (5) is fixed transversely over the extrados of the hardened arches by self-tapping screws (106), serving as stay-in-place formwork and load-distribution diaphragm. A layered mass plum-concrete overburden (85+86) is placed above the decking in successive symmetrical layers from both abutments toward the crown."
