MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411075786 A) filed by Council Of Scientific And Industrial Research, New Delhi, on Oct. 7, 2024, for 'modified mxene based composite material for electrochemical devices, and method of preparation and application thereof.'

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses an MXene composite-based electrode for electrochemical devices. More particularly, the present invention discloses a composite electrode material comprising polypyrrole (PPy) encapsulated polyoxometalate (POM) intercalated between MXene (TiaCbTx) having formula: POM@PPy/TiaCbTx wherein, POM is phosphotungstic acid (PWx) having x in a range from 10 to 12; a is 2 to 4; b is 1 to 3; and Tx denotes surface termination groups selected from fluorine (-F) and/or oxygen (-O), hydroxyl (-OH) groups and its process for preparation. The present invention further discloses an electrode comprising the composite electrode material of the present invention and its process for preparation. The present invention also discloses a full cell for an electrochemical energy storage device comprising the said composite material as an electrode."
