MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202041001337 A) filed by Ordnance Factory Medak, Sanga Reddy, Telangana, on Jan. 11, 2020, for 'modernised mine protected vehicle that withstands higher blast effect of higher capacity mine charges.'

Inventor(s) include Bharat Singh; Ketavarapu Srigouri; Palayadantavida Kalladan Gireesh Babu; and Matam Varakumar.

The application for the patent was published on June 27, under issue no. 26/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a Modernised Mine Protected Vehicle (MMPV) that can withstand higher blast effect of higher capacity mine charges and the bottom of the Mine Protected Vehicle is provided with "V" shaped mono-cock hull body made from armour steel plate and specially designed to withstand the higher blast effect to the extent of 15 kg TNT so as to protect the personnel inside said vehicle and the side plate is designed with combination of 16-18mm armour plate 23-25mm DYNEMA composite and 6-8mm armour plate. It is provided with 6x6 type of auto motive aggregates so that the vehicle load carrying capacity will be increased and in terrain areas the mobility of the vehicle will be good. Back side of the vehicle two sets of axles will be mounted. The vehicle is equipped with power full 230 hp engine and its aggregates."
