MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010390 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'mobility assistive device for vehicles.'

Inventor(s) include Prof. Dinesh Arora; Dr. Mandeep Singh; and Ruchi Bisht.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A mobility assistive device for vehicles comprises of rectangular-shaped extendable frame 1, wherein an ultrasonic sensor for detecting wheels size and placement of wheels inside frame 1, extendable frame 1 extends and accommodate wheel of the vehicle, a pair of motorized hinge joints 2 deploy a curve-shaped plate 3 to prevent slippage of wheels from frame 1, a motorized-belt drive for providing movement to vehicle on surface, an AI-based imaging unit 4 for detecting presence of obstacle and actuates a motorized roller 5 for unwinding sheet 6 and directs a pair of telescopically operated clippers 7 for extending to deploy sheets 6 in front of frames 1 and push obstacle to prevent collisions."
