MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010118 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'mobility assistive device for snowy surface.'

Inventor(s) include Rohit Kumar Singh Gautam.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A mobility assistive device for snowy surface comprising, a platform 1 positioned on snowy surface and configured with base plate 2 to support platform 1, a chair 3 arranged on platform 1 for seating, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting height of user, a double rack gear arrangement 4 configured between platform 1 and chair 3 for positioning chair 3, a motion sensor for detecting motion of platform 1, multiple lead screw arrangement 5 each configured with a spike 6 mapped on base plate 2 for providing movement to spike 6, an imaging unit 7 for capturing images of surroundings, a speaker 8 for generating voice command, a handle 9 attached with platform 1 to change direction of platform 1, a flap aids in changing of direction, secondary motion sensor for detecting collision of platform 1, a V-shaped plank 10 for enhancing aero-dynamics of platform 1."
