MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311088306 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on Dec. 22, 2023, for 'mobility assistive device for disabled.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A mobility assistive device for disabled, comprising a pair of telescopically operated inverted U-shaped frame 1 developed to be equipped by a disabled user on each legs, a pair of straps 2 for securing legs with frame 1, an imaging unit 3 to determines height of user, a motorized roller 4 arranged on each of frame 1 for rotating to wind strap in order to secure the legs with frame 1, a pair of cuboidal bodies 5 for accommodating user's feet, a cushioned member for providing comfort to user's, a microphone 6 to input voice command regarding a walking operation that user desires to perform, multiple motorized hinge joints 7 for providing movement to frame 1 in a manner that allows user to walk on a ground surface, a thermal imaging unit 8 for detecting intensity of strain developed on user's legs, a speaker to notify user to halt/stop walking."
