MUMBAI, India, Jan. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511104179 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 29, 2025, for 'mobile phone based garage door control system using dtmf authentication.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Satnam Singh; Aman Mittal; Dr. Varun Kumar; and Dr. Rajeev Sobti.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A mobile phone based garage door control system using DTMF authentication comprises a mobile communication device 101 configured to generate dual tone multi-frequency (DTMF) signals corresponding to numeric key presses, a DTMF decoder circuit 102 to receive said DTMF signals and decode them into digital data, a motor driver circuit 104 configured to actuate a motor connected to the garage door, a match between the decoded digital data and the pre-stored password, and the microcontroller 103 activates the motor driver circuit 104 to open or close the garage door based on received commands."
