MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541121111 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 3, 2025, for 'mini heat sealing machine.'
Inventor(s) include N. Vighneshwar Reddy; Rajesh A; and Dr Ramya Mohan.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The Mini Heat Sealing Machine is an innovative and interactive solution aimed at addressing the common problem of food spoilage and packaging inefficiency. Traditional sealing methods, although effective in closing bags or pouches, are often rendered ineffective due to lack of portability or ease of use in daily routines. This results in individuals leaving packets open unintentionally, leading to wasted food, reduced freshness, and negative impacts on storage quality. To overcome this challenge, the Mini Heat Sealing Machine integrates compact design with thermal sealing technology to compel the user to quickly and easily reseal packages. When activated, it not only produces a rapid and reliable heat seal but also allows for handheld mobility, typically using a small heating strip and pressure mechanism. The operation is either manual or semi-automatic, ensuring safe and consistent performance that adapts to different plastic materials. This sealing action helps preserve the contents and improves storage habits, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of home organization. The system is powered by a simple power source, often a battery or USB input, and includes components such as a nichrome wire, heat-resistant body, spring clamps, and optionally LED indicators for power status. The sealing temperature is consistent, and the pressure duration can be adjusted depending on the type of packaging material used. This project not only showcases the integration of hardware and uliliLy for real-world problem-solving but also emphasizes user convenience through creative design. By turning the mundane task of storing items into a fast and effective experience, the Mini Heat Sealing Machine encourages better household practices and promotes longer-lasting storage. It is particularly beneficial for homemakers, students, working professionals, and individuals concerned with food preservation. In addition to its practical application, the project serves as an excellent demonstration of compact electronics, applied thermodynamics, and human-centered product design."
