MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511115487 A) filed by Nims University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Nov. 22, 2025, for 'micro volume blood test strip.'

Inventor(s) include Ankit Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A micro-volume strip (100) and a method (200) for simultaneous blood typing and multi-disease screening. The strip (100) comprises a porous substrate (101) with a proximal end (101a) and a distal end (101b), a sample application pad (102) configured to receive a whole blood sample of less than 50 microliters, and a fluidic channel (103) enabling capillary-driven migration samples. A first set of reaction zones (104a) immobilized with anti-A, anti-B, and anti-D antibodies allows visible agglutination for ABO and Rh blood typing, a second set of reaction zones (104b) pre-coated with disease-specific reagents detects at least one disease marker, including HIV, Hepatitis B, Malaria. A control zone (105) ensures test validity, and an absorbent pad (106) wicks excess fluid. The method (200) involves applying the blood sample, observing reactions in the first and second zones, and confirming control validity, enabling rapid, reliable, and disposable point-of-care testing from minimal blood volumes."
