MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411014352 A) filed by Council Of Scientific And Industrial Research, New Delhi, on Feb. 26, 2024, for 'methylene enyl ester keto compounds and a metal-free catalytic process of preparation thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Santosh Baburao Mhaske; Tushar Bapusaheb Kale; and Sayali Gangadhar Jagtap.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention generally relates to a field of catalysis and ligand design in organocatalytic and organometallic chemistry. Specifically, the present invention relates to use of N-Heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) as catalysts for the metal-free Tsuji-Trost type allylation reaction of aldehydes with Morita-Baylis-Hillman adducts. More particularly, the present invention relates to compound of formula 1 representing the substituted methylene enyl ester keto compounds of formula I and substituted methylene dienyl ketone diester compounds of formula II, and process of preparation thereof. Further, the present invention relates to preparation of Sacubitril API using said compound of formula I as starting material or intermediate."
