MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441036238 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on May 7, 2024, for 'methods and ue for assigning unequal modulation and coding scheme in wireless local area network.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Embodiments disclose methods for assigning an unequal MCS in a wireless LAN by a UE (102). The method includes determining a maximum difference in a MCS index allowed across different spatial streams per user. The method includes determining a type of unequal MCS to be enabled at the UE (102). The method includes identifying a primary spatial stream, based on the type of unequal MCS to be enabled at the UE (102). Further, the method includes enabling assignment of the at least one MCS index to all the spatial streams based on at least one of the NSS, the maximum difference in the MCS index allowed across different spatial streams per user, the type of unequal MCS to be enabled at the UE and the identification of the primary spatial stream."
