MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617013880 A) filed by Versea Discovery, Inc., Tampa, U.S.A., on Feb. 9, for 'methods and systems relating to assessing mitochondrial efficiency of an individual in the presence or absence of a health condition.'

Inventor(s) include Porada, Stephen; and Moeller-Bertram, Toby.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method for assessing a mitochondrial efficiency of an individual may include: treating cultured cells with a biological sample from the individual; and measuring a physiological characteristic related a mitochondrial efficiency of the treated cultured cells, wherein the physiological characteristic relates to one or more of: mitochondrial stress, adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production rate, reactive oxygen species, and mitochondrial networks."
