The method comprises capturing a left image from a left camera and a right image from a right camera of the multi-camera setup. The method further comprises capturing, by the HMD, the one or more image frames. The method also comprises extracting, by the HMD, one or more features from each of the one or more image frames. The method thereafter comprises predicting, by the HMD, a minimum number of depth sampling points for estimating the depth of each of the one or more image frames using the one or more extracted features. The method further comprises estimating, by the HMD, the depth of each of the one or more image frames using the corresponding minimum number of depth sampling points."
