MUMBAI, India, June 16 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611053407 A) filed by Asuun Wellness Private Limited, New Delhi, on April 27, for 'methods and systems for contactless monitoring vital signs of a user.'

The application for the patent was published on June 5, under issue no. 23/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Present disclosure describes techniques for monitoring vital signs. The techniques include the step of capturing at least one video frame of a user's face for estimation of one or more physiological parameters, applying, at least one computer vision technique, on the at least one video frame to extract one or more facial regions of the user for analysis, processing the one or more facial regions to extract color information across the at least one video frames. The color information comprises the average red, green, and blue pixel intensities of one or more facial regions in respective frame. The techniques further comprise applying, Plane-Orthogonal-toSkin (POS) technique, on the average red, green, and blue pixel intensities that comprises RGB signals, to generate blood volume pulse (BVP) signal, and processing, using time domain and frequency domain analysis, the BVP signals to estimate one or more physiological parameters of the user."
