MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517065835 A) filed by Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Inc., Tarrytown, U.S.A., on July 10, for 'methods and apparatus for hemolysis detection.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A sensor assembly enabling hemolysis detection with a diagnostic analyzer. The sensor assembly can be included in a diagnostic cartridge that may be coupled to the diagnostic analyzer and a sample fluid can be delivered thereto. The sensor assembly includes a main oxygen sensor configured to provide a first measurement and a modified oxygen sensor including an oxidant configured to oxidize hemoglobin iron to methemoglobin and configured to provide a second measurement. A hemolysis detection module of the diagnostic analyzer provides a level of hemolysis in the sample based on a difference between the first measurement and the second measurement. Numerous other diagnostic analyzers, diagnostic cartridges, and detection methods are provided."
