Intellectual Property India Publishes Patent Application for 'Method Of Producing A Polyester' Filed by Topsoe A/S

MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517056163 A) filed by Topsoe A/S, Lyngby, Denmark, on June 11, for 'method of producing a polyester.'

Inventor(s) include Taarning, Esben; Pedersen, Lars Saaby; Osmundsen, Christian Marup; and Beier, Matthias Josef.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method of producing a polyester, the method comprising: (a) providing a biomass based composition comprising ethylene glycol and having a UV transmittance at 275 nm determined in accordance with ASTM method E2193-16 of less than 40%; (b) contacting the biomass based composition with at least one reagent to form the polyester."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 21, 2023, under International application No.PCT/EP2023/087235.
