MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641006863 A) filed by Tadimety Aromatics Private Limited, Bengaluru, Karnataka, on Jan. 23, for 'method of preparation of 9-methoxy-5,9-dimethyldec-4-enals and perfume composition thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a method of preparation of 9-methoxy-5,9-dimethyldec-4-enal of Formula (I), the method comprising: a) heating a solution of 6-methylhept-5-en-2-one of Formula (II) with an acid and a methylating agent to obtain a 6-methoxy-6-methylheptan-2-one of Formula (III); b) adding an organomagnesium reagent to the 6-methoxy-6-methylheptan-2-one of Formula (III) to obtain a 7-methoxy-3,7-dimethyloct-1-en-3-ol of Formula (IV); c) heating the 7-methoxy-3,7-dimethyloct-1-en-3-ol of Formula (IV) with enol ether in the presence of a catalyst to obtain a 3-(ethenyloxy)-7-methoxy-3,7-dimethyloct-1-ene of Formula (V); and d) heating the 3-(ethenyloxy)-7-methoxy-3,7-dimethyloct-1-ene of Formula (V) to obtain a 9-methoxy-5,9-dimethyldec-4-enals of Formula (I). The present disclosure also provides a perfume composition comprises: 4 to 6 wt% of 9-methoxy-5,9-dimethyldec-4-enal of Formula (I) as defined above; 45 to 60 wt % of one or more fragrance ingredient; and 35 to 50 wt% of one or more carrier solvent."
