MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311084461 A) filed by Institute Of Nano Science And Technology, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 11, 2023, for 'method of fabricating high-performance electrochromic supercapacitor (ecs) electrodes and applications thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Bagchi, Vivek; Alagar, Srinivasan; and Aashi.
The application for the patent was published on June 20, under issue no. 25/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a method for fabricating a high-performance electrochromic supercapacitor (ECS) electrode having a multi-layered nanostructure. The method comprises preparing a tungsten trioxide (WO3) precursor solution (S102); cleaning and drying an indium tin oxide (ITO) glass substrate (S104); activating the indium tin oxide (ITO) glass substrate (S106); depositing a film of tungsten trioxide (WO3) on the indium tin oxide (ITO) glass substrate using low voltage electrochemical deposition (S108); and laser engraving the tungsten trioxide (WO3)-coated indium tin oxide (ITO) glass to form a planar electrode (S110). The present invention also provides a high-performance electrochromic supercapacitor (ECS) electrode comprising a tungsten trioxide (WO3)-coated indium tin oxide (ITO) glass substrate and a smart glass window comprising said supercapacitor electrode."
