MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514083747 A) filed by Certoplast Technische Klebebnder Gmbh, Wuppertal, Germany, on Sept. 3, 2025, for 'method of and apparatus for making an adhesive tape.'
Inventor(s) include Ren Rambusch; and Timo Leermann.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The object of the present invention is a method of making an adhesive tape (1), in particular a winding tape for bundling cables in automobiles. For this purpose a textile substrate band (3) optionally including adhesive coating (5) is fed from a supply roll (4) in a longitudinal direction (L) and is cut by a longitudinal slitter (8) into longitudinal strips. The longitudinal slitter (8) has at least a slitting blade (8a). In addition a heatable fuser (6) is provided that fuses the cut edges of the adhesive tapes (1). According to the invention the fuser (6) is upstream of and effective before the longitudinal slitter (8) to form in the substrate band (4) a melted track (9) that is cut by the downstream slitter (8a)."
