MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611001680 A) filed by Sharda University, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Jan. 7, for 'method for smart water management.'
Inventor(s) include Mohd. Raza Khan; Dr. Parma Nand; and Dr. Rani Astya.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method for smart water management in which an ultrasonic sensor (302) measures the water level in a tank (306), and a controller (308) compares the measured level with predefined lower and upper thresholds to determine when to start and stop the water pump (310). The method incorporates a flow sensor (304) in the pump supply line to verify actual water flow, thereby detecting dry-run conditions when no flow is observed within a defined period after pump activation. The controller (308) synchronizes sensor data, and pump operational modes to a communication module (312) in real time, allowing a user to monitor system status."
