MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517003534 A) filed by Korea Zinc Co. Ltd.; and Kemco, Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Jan. 15, for 'method for recovering lithium.'

Inventor(s) include Park, Ye Bin; and Choi, James Soung.

The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a method for recovering lithium. Provided according to an embodiment of the present invention may be a method for recovering lithium, the method comprising the steps of: preparing a lithium-containing solution containing lithium ions; exchanging the lithium ions with the ions included in the chelate resin so that the lithium ions are bonded to the chelate resin while the lithium-containing solution passes through the chelate resin; and passing an acidic solution through the chelate resin to which the lithium ions are bonded so that the lithium ions are separated from the chelate resin."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 11, 2023, under International application No.PCT/KR2023/020325.
