MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517067059 A) filed by Basf Se, Ludwigshafen Am Rhein, Germany, on July 14, for 'method for producing superabsorbents.'
Inventor(s) include Peterson, Monte Alan; Adey, Vernon Lynn; Gorges, Jan Niclas; and Schroeder, Juergen.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a method for continuously producing superabsorbents, wherein an aqueous monomer solution is polymerized in order to form a polymer gel, the acrylic acid contained in the exhaust gas of the polymerization and/or drying process is scrubbed out using an aqueous solution, the pH value of the aqueous solution equals 9.0 to 12.5, and the aqueous solution loaded with acrylic acid is used at least partly to produce the monomer solution or is metered into the polymerization in parallel with the monomer solution."
The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 12, 2023, under International application No.PCT/EP2023/085280.
