MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517049116 A) filed by Ecole Centrale De Marseille; Universite D'Aix Marseille; and Centre National De La Recherche Scientifique, Marseille, France, on May 21, for 'method for producing polymer microcapsules.'
Inventor(s) include Du, Jiupeng; and Guichardon, Pierrette.
The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a method for producing polymer microcapsules comprising the steps of - preparing, by microfluidics, an emulsion comprising an aqueous continuous phase and a dispersed phase, in the form of microdroplets, said dispersed phase comprising a monomer or prepolymer A and a co-solvent, which is at least partially miscible in the continuous phase; - a step of partial or complete diffusion of the co-solvent from the dispersed phase to the continuous phase, by diffusion and/or convection; - a step of interfacial polymerization, by polycondensation, by bringing the microdroplets of the emulsion into contact with a polymerization solution comprising a second monomer or prepolymer B."
The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 21, 2023, under International application No.PCT/EP2023/082615.
