MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517067371 A) filed by Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, Tokyo, on July 15, for 'method for producing modified polycarbonate resin composition, method for producing bisphenol, and method for producing recycled pol ycarbonate resin and recycled pol ycarbonate resin composition.'
Inventor(s) include Nakashima, Yukie; Shibata, Hiroki; and Iwade, Miki.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is a method for producing a modified polycarbonate resin composition suitable as a raw material for chemical recycling or material recycling. Provided is a method for producing a modified polycarbonate resin composition, in which a solvent treatment comprising bringing a waste polycarbonate resin composition having a methylene chloride dissolution color of 110 or more into contact with a treatment solvent is performed to dissolve the surface of the waste polycarbonate resin composition in the treatment solvent, thereby producing a modified polycarbonate resin composition. Also provided is a method for producing a modified polycarbonate resin composition, in which a solvent treatment comprising bringing a waste polycarbonate resin composition having a lightness index L* of 20 to 80 into contact with a treatment solvent is performed to produce a modified polycarbonate resin composition having a difference between a lightness index L* before the solvent treatment and a lightness index L* after the solvent treatment of 5 or more. Also provided is a method for producing a modified polycarbonate resin composition, in which a solvent treatment comprising bringing a waste polycarbonate resin composition having a largest side length of 1 mm to 1000 mm inclusive into contact with a treatment solvent is performed to produce a modified polycarbonate resin composition having a melting heat amount of 1.0 J/g or more."
The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 26, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/046663.
