MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517058635 A) filed by Eurecat S. A., La Voulte-sur-Rhone, France, on June 18, for 'method for producing lithium sulfide in a circulating bed reactor.'

Inventor(s) include Italiano, Giuseppe; Galliou, Pauline; and Kerleau, Philippe.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a method for preparing lithium sulfide (Li2S) from lithium hydroxide (LiOH) and hydrogen sulfide (H2S), characterised in that the lithium hydroxide is sulfided in a reaction zone (9) comprising at least one moving bed tubular reactor (9a) having the configuration of an ascending vibrating spiral in which the lithium hydroxide (4) flows in counter-current to an anhydrous gas mixture (10) containing hydrogen sulfide and at least one inert gas."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 05, 2023, under International application No.PCT/FR2023/051927.
