MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517036387 A) filed by Public Joint Stock Company Sibur Holding (Pjsc Sibur Holding), Tyumenskaya oblast, Russia, on April 15, for 'method for producing a metallic lithium dispersion and method for producing an alkyllithium solution.'
Inventor(s) include Lipskih, Maksim Vladimirovich; and Iakhin, Albert Alikovich.
The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a method for producing a dispersion of metallic lithium that can be used in the production of solutions of alkyllithium compounds. More particularly, it relates to a method for producing a dispersion of metallic lithium in an organic solvent by melting metallic lithium, dispersing the melted metallic lithium under agitation in an organic solvent having a boiling point of up to 120 C, and then cooling to produce a dispersion of metallic lithium in the organic solvent. The invention further relates to a dispersion of metallic lithium in an organic solvent having a boiling point of up to 120 C, in which the metallic lithium particles have a size greater than 300 m, and to a method for producing a solution of alkyllithium using the claimed metallic lithium dispersion."
