MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517056226 A) filed by Saint-Gobain Glass France, Courbevoie, France, on June 11, for 'method for producing a disc-like or film-like object with a decorative coating.'
Inventor(s) include Yeh, Li-Ya; Mooraj, Semjon; Hagen, Jan; and Zimmermann, Roberto.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a method for producing a disc-like or film-like object having a decorative coating, said method comprising the following method steps in the order given: (a) providing a disc-like or film-like substrate (1), (b) coating a surface (I) of the substrate (1) with a coating (2) which comprises at least two layers (2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 3), (c) removing at least one layer (2.3, 2.4, 3) in at least one decorative region (D) of the coating (2) by means of laser radiation (S), at least one layer (2.1, 2.2) remaining in the decorative region (D), the at least one layer (2.3, 2.4, 3) not being removed in at least one base region (B) of the coating (2)."
The patent application was internationally filed on Oct. 18, 2023, under International application No.PCT/EP2023/078900.
