MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517051332 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on May 28, for 'method for preparing negative electrode active material for lithium secondary battery, and negative electrode active material for lithium secondary battery prepared thereby.'
Inventor(s) include Jun, Hyun Min; Lee, Yong Ju; Kim, Dong Hyuk; and Kim, Do Hyeun.
The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a method for preparing a negative electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery and a negative electrode active material prepared by the method, the method comprising: a first step of dispersing silicon-based particles in a solvent to form a silicon dispersion; a second step of adding iron salt and tannic acid to the silicon dispersion and stirring to form a reaction layer of iron salt and tannic acid on the surface of the silicon-based particles; a third step of heat treating the reaction layer of iron salt and tannic acid to form an amorphous carbon coating layer; and a fourth step of acid-treating the amorphous carbon coating layer to form a porous amorphous carbon coating layer."
The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 24, 2023, under International application No.PCT/KR2023/019130.
