Inventor(s) include Suzuki Naohi; Kobori Katsuhiro; and Honda Atsutaka.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "To provide a method that is for polishing a ferritic stainless steel strip and that is capable of reducing base-remaining defects and polishing scratch defects. This method is for polishing a ferritic stainless steel strip when subjecting, to a base-polishing treatment using a polishing device having a plurality of polishing stands, a cold-rolled ferritic stainless steel strip before undergoing a hairline finishing treatment, the method comprising: a classification step for classifying the cold-rolled ferritic stainless steel strip; a preparation step for preparing a polishing belt for use in the polishing stands; and a base-polishing step for subjecting, to the base-polishing treatment, the cold-rolled steel strip classified in the classification step. In the classification step, the cold-rolled steel strip is classified into respective materials on the basis of the total contained amounts of Ti and Nb. In the preparation step, graded polishing belts having a grain size of #60 and #80 are prepared as a coarse grain size polishing belt, and graded polishing belts having a grain size of #100 and #120 are prepared as a fine grain size polishing belt. In the base-polishing step, respective materials are subjected to the base-polishing treatment using a polishing device in which the coarse grain size polishing belts and the fine grain size polishing belts are used under predetermined conditions."
The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 16, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/041229.
