MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517049023 A) filed by Jfe Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on May 21, for 'method for manufacturing resistance spot welding joint.'
Inventor(s) include Endo Reiko; and Takashima Katsutoshi.
The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing a resistance spot welding joint. The present invention has a readying step for overlapping at least two steel sheets, including at least one high-strength steel sheet, with each other and obtaining a sheet set, a welding step for performing resistance spot welding on the sheet set, and a heat treatment step for heat-treating a resistance-spot-welded part. In the welding step, there is performed, after a main energization step for forming the resistance-spot-welded part, a post heat treatment step having a cooling procedure for cooling the resistance-spot-welded part for a cooling time tc1 of 20-800 ms, then a temperature-raising procedure for energizing the resistance-spot-welded part at a prescribed current value I2 for an energization time t2 of 10-200 ms, and then a retaining procedure for energizing the resistance-spot-welded part at a prescribed current value I3 for an energization time t3 of over 0 ms and less than 600 ms. In the heat treatment step, the resistance-spot-welded part is heat-treated for a time t4 satisfying 5-30 minutes at a temperature T of 70-300 C."
The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 10, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/040490.
