MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517058084 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on June 17, for 'method for manufacturing lithium secondary battery.'

Inventor(s) include Kang, Bohyun; Kang, Hyeyeon; Jang, Daeun; Sung, Kiwon; Lee, Byoungsoo; Park, Jinseo; and Jo, Youngseong.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a lithium secondary battery manufacturing method comprising the steps of: preparing for a battery cell including a cathode, an anode and an electrolyte, the cathode comprising a lithium-rich manganese-based oxide in which the amount of manganese in the entire metal excluding lithium exceeds 50 mol% and the ratio (Li/Me) of the number of moles of lithium to the number of moles of the entire metal excluding lithium exceeds 1; and charging and discharging the battery cell at least one time so as to activate same, wherein the activating step of comprises: a first charging step of charging in a constant current (CC) mode at SOC 5 or less; a second charging step of completing the charging at SOC 80-SOC 98 from a charging completion time of the first charging step; and carrying out the discharging one time after the completion of charging."
