MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517079892 A) filed by Jfe Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on Aug. 22, for 'method for manufacturing clad steel sheet.'

Inventor(s) include Ikeda Hiroshi; Sakai Ryosuke; and Shimamura Junji.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is a method for manufacturing a clad steel sheet in which a thick clad steel sheet exhibiting excellent low temperature toughness can be manufactured while ensuring a tensile strength of 535 MPa or greater. The method for manufacturing a clad steel sheet according to the present invention comprises: a step for obtaining a clad slab by laminating a first material sheet having a prescribed component composition and a second material sheet comprising a corrosion-resistant alloy; a step for heating the clad slab to a prescribed temperature; a step for subsequently subjecting the clad slab to hot rolling under a prescribed condition to obtain a clad rolled sheet in which the first material sheet and the second material sheet are joined to form a base material steel sheet and a laminated material sheet, respectively; a step for cooling the clad rolled sheet; a step for subsequently reheating the clad rolled sheet to 850-1050 C; a step for subsequently cooling the clad rolled sheet such that the average cooling rate of the base material steel sheet is 2-20 C/s; and a step for subsequently tempering the clad rolled sheet to 450-650 C."

The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 21, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/011140.
